BUTTERCREAM FROSTING
INGREDIENTS:
2 lbs. Powdered Sugar 1 tsp. Vanilla Extract*
1 cup Vegetable Shortening 2 drops Butter Flavoring
1/3 cup Evaporated Milk 1/4 tsp. Almond Extract
Pinch Salt Paste Food Color (optional)
DIRECTIONS:
Fit your electric mixer with the wire beater.
Cream the Shortening with 1 pound of the Powdered Sugar.
Add the Milk and Flavorings and beat until smooth.
Gradually add the remaining pound of Sugar and the Salt. Mix well at high speed, adding more liquid as needed to bring to the desired consistency.
Divide into portions and color with paste food colors as desired.
Note: This frosting may be used for icing cakes and cupcakes and can be used in decorating bags with decorating tips.
