Sparkling Lemonade


















6 Lemons

4 cups Sugar

1 cup Water

2 liters Sparkling Water


Sugar Syrup:


  1. Place 4 cups Sugar and 1 cup Water in a heavy saucepan.  Stir and bring to a boil over high heat.  Remove from heat, stir well and cool.  Store in a covered glass container.


For 2 1/2 Quart Pitcher


  1. Mix together the juice of 6 Lemons, and 1 ½ cups Sugar Syrup.
  2. Add Sparkling Water to make 2 quarts; stir to mix well.  Taste and adjust sweetness, if necessary.
  3. Serve ice cold or over crushed Ice.  Garnish with Maraschino Cherries.


Yield:   8 Servings


Note: If you have an abundant lemon tree, squeeze lemons in advance and freeze in ice cube

              trays.  Use 8 lemon ice cubes for 2 quarts
